Staff of DG Agri learns about E-learning course: Seminar on November 28

Already over 400 people from more than 50 countries have registered for EL-CAP, the E-Learning course on the Common Agricultural Policy.

The course is partially funded by the European Commission in the framework of the CAP information measures grants scheme.
It seems therefore only natural to present the course and the first results to staff of DG AGRI and other DG’s On November 28. This will take place at the office of DG AGRI in Brussels during a so called lunch seminar.


Professor Franco Sotte, scientific coordinator of the course, and emeritus professor Allan Buckwell, author of one of the course’s modules, are some of the expert speakers to demonstrate the course.

Agricultural and Rural Convention

On November 4 and 5 over 100 people, representing a large numer of civil society organisations, gathered in Brussels to discuss and finalise ARC's communication to the European institutions on the reform of the CAP. Commissioner Ciolos was present to give the opening address. After intensive debate on numerous amendments, agreement was reached on the final text of the Communication.

The Communication was presented to the press on November 17, just before the Commissioner discussed the Communication of the Commission with the European Parliament on November 18.

International conference on the future of the CAP

On April 16 the Groupe de Bruges, in collaboration with the Associazione 'Alessandro Bartola', the Economic Faculty of the Polytecnic University of the Marche and INEA, organised an international meeting on the future of the CAP. The conference was made possible through financial support of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Among the key note speakers were Allan Buckwell, policy director of the Country Land and Business Association, Luigi Boccaccio of Birdlife International and Donato Fanelli, vice president of CEJA. The conference was attented by over 100 participants, representing a wide representation of stakeholders, who engaged in a lively debate on the future of the CAP.
